It's finally half way through the week. As usual, breakfast on the run at Strathfield before placement. I would go to Hello Happy, but it's not open this early in the morning =( so rather than going to Gloria Jeans and risk getting annoyed by school kids, went into this cafe called Maldini's for the daily coffee fix, and a bacon egg roll.

It came on a small wooden chopping board, which is really lovely compared to boring white plates, and the egg scrambled till fluffy perfection. Roll was warm, crisp on the top and soft inside, so it was a pretty good breakfast for such a wet and cold day. Down side is the coffee- they must have burnt it slightly, but definitely not the worst. I still prefer the coffee at townhall. It's perfect almost every time, and super fast service.

Hm. I thought the rain was supposed to come tomorrow.. But since it's raining today, maybe it won't rain tomorrow? I can't imagine how bad placement will be tomorrow if it rains. Think 30+ kids with autism stuck indoors, unable to go outside for playground activities or park activities.. ><

Now after coffee, I'm craving cold noodles. Ever since I started placement at Strathfield, I started to appreciate this place a lot more. There are heaps of really good cafes and restaurants here. In the past, I just remembered it as the place where my dad parked his car and came back to find some (uncivilised) person had stuck chewing gum on the window.

It's really not too bad now. For breakfast and lunch, that is.

.... Cold noodles... ...

I am officially screwed. Just checked the unit outlines for my subjects this coming semester, and oh my... think I just passed through the gates of Hell, if Hell existed on Earth. Feeling like a deflated balloon, who gave everything to achieve good results last semester, and am not recovered yet. This holiday really didn't seem like a holiday at all, and just coming back from a terrible day at work that started off terribly to begin with really didn't help. Used to think that life is all just an equation- you plan, you calculate, you take x amount of time to do one thing, and y amount of time to do another, and it should all fit into 24 hours each day. But of course, life never goes accordingly. There is no equation, and now I'm feeling like I'm trying to calculate the last digit of pi.

So while I wait for someone to dig a hole and bury me inside for the next couple of years, I shall look at food and maybe feel more human again.

The strange thing about this blog is.. I don't even know what kind of blog it is. It's not a food blog because I don't follow "food blog rules", like putting down prices, addresses, rating and what not. It's not quite a personalized "this is what I do everyday" mundane blog (or at least I hope not), it's not really a photoblog either. It's kind of... just a blog.

This blog was actually started in June 2003, when I was typing lyKe dIS and thought it was "cool" to do those random online quizzes and post their results on, lyKe dIS:

Which character of Haibane Renmei are you?
Nemu: You are mature and relaxed, balanced and agreeable; extremes are not part of who you are. You can sometimes help put people back on the right path, if they really listen to you; !@##%$$%^ yadayada-----

Yea, something like that. BS. Everyone goes through that phase, usually at around age 10-15. Some people stay stuck in that phase and continue doing pointless quizzes well past their twenties, but me? I'm definitely over it. Facebook is a major facilitator of time-wasters like quizzes for the current young generation. No wonder the human race is getting stupider and dimmer as the generations go on.

Anyway! None of all that nonsense now, it slowly became more of a photo blog, and then more features of food... I suppose eventually this blog will change out of this food phase when interest in food is lost (then it turns into a blog about um... work? please no.) For now, the food adventures continues!

It's snowman for breakfast! At Strathfield this morning, placement in an hour's time, so rather than my usual Mario Tokyo, it's Hello Happy. Cake and coffee with complementary toast and jam.

Must admit, I didn't even know what sort of cake the snowman was even after ordering it, but figured that something looking so cute cannot possibly taste bad. Looks matter so much in the food world.. It's sad. Still, in this case, the cute snowman ended up being an extremely delicious blueberry cheesecake. Sure feels like Christmas in July~

There are two little kids a few tables beside me saying "cheese!" for the snowman whenever the flash goes off in my camera. Cute..

On a side note, I was watching Master Chef last night because Iron Chef Sakai was going to be a guest there. It was supposed to be an invention test, and only 1 dish can be considered unique. I wonder what they would think if they saw Luxirare's food recreations. It's so obvious some are total amateurs, and this is the finals?? We need a program like Iron Chef, featuring professional chefs, or chefs with reputations on the line.. Makes things way more interesting. Poor Sakai, he probably only had 2 good dishes worth eating to sample out of the 7.

Am extremely sleepy at the moment, just came back from work, and time went fast enough, but due to lack of sleep from the night before, I think I'll be hopping straight into bed after typing this up. Last night was fun though, I met up with F+S along with tt to have dinner at Kings Cross, and managed to use my Gold Entertainment card for the first time =D That's always exciting, but since there's a massive backlog of stuff to blog about, especially during the time when my sister came over for her photo shoot, I shall continue with those first.

I'm a bit nervous about blogging right now. Am at Kings Cross Centre, wasting time while waiting to have dinner with F+S tonight. Tt said I shouldn't log in to anything here in case someone's installed a key logger in these computers. They could very well have done that, because there's absolutely no security on these computers. I just installed chrome for them without any trouble. Usually public computers don't let you install or download anything. Oh well! If this site suddenly changed and became some... I dunno, random site, it means someone took over my account.

I forgot to type an entry last night, so I guess I'll make it up now. It's going to be super short because I only have an hour to do this.

Oh, it's wednesday again.. I actually got cheesecake from Woolies again, but when I went to get coffee, people were handing out free muesli bars. Trying to promote breakfast eating habits into businessmen and women at 6 something in the morning at townhall? I guess it'd work.. Looks healthier than what I get for breakfast too *cough* cheesecake..

While today's breakfast isn't anything special, it did come free =P which is always nice once in a while. Train's coming in 5, time for coffee and then some psp! =D

Due to some misinformation given to me by tt, I'm currently replaying the same part of Suikoden, for the third time. =( It's troublesome having to replay, you just lose the "gaming adrenaline" and you lose all incentive to grind. I tend to skip all the battles if it's a replay.

Anyway~ today will definitely be a short and sweet entry because it's placement day tomorrow, meaning waking up at 5:30am T T And apparently tomorrow is going to be very cold, so it'll be miserable, waking up to the cold and dark. Last week, I didn't even have my heater or lights because of the massive blackout, hopefully tomorrow won't be the same.

Blogger is still being annoying and not fixing that spinning icon that seems to be permanently stuck on my "new entry", but at least I can still post... it just requires a couple more clicks to get to a new post. Being the usual lazy self, I can see it getting irritating, but since I don't blog very often, it's ok once in a while~

I'm still very behind in my blog entries, so it's been decided that I'll do small entries, not huge ones, but more of them, so eventually, I'll get back to the present.

I shouldn't be wasting my phone battery by blogging but my train comes in 10 minutes.. It was freezing cold this morning, but not as bad as 2 weeks ago. Guess the worst of winter has passed. Woke up this morning and my clock that projects the time onto my room ceiling was off. It felt kind of odd not having anything on the ceiling, having gotten used to seeing the time there as soon as I wake up each morning.. Or afternoon depending on what time I wake up.

There is a massive black out this morning, not just at my house or suburb, apparently it's affecting more than 60 traffic lights and some hundreds of homes across the north. Pennant Hills and Hornsby are also included. Thank goodness I took the earliest bus to the city- I can imagine the road conditions will be hell right about now with all the traffic lights blacked out..

To make matters worse, my torch light broke last night. We were doing a photoshoot for my sister and her fiance last night at Waverton and my hands were so cold, I dropped my torch onto the metal grid floor while setting up the stand for flash, and it literally shattered. So when I woke up this morning to total darkness, my torch that is usually on the table next to my bed was gone T_T FML...

At least my bus wasn't stuck in traffic. And I get cheesecake for breakfast because my bus driver was speeding and I managed to get to the station (in one piece and) early enough to visit Woolworths.

Ok, so blogger has been acting weird lately and I cannot post new entries... unless I first post an empty entry and then edit it... stupid thing... =(

I realise it's been more than a week since the last entry, and I'm owing F+S the Rise entry, so this is it!

From the entry about the Iron Chef Dinner, there was a promotional flyer regarding "Rise", where:
From Iron Chef Event 2010
We get the degustation menu, 7 course, for $48 instead of $65, so tt and I invited FL and SM to dinner one Friday night. It was their birthday!
